Quests, & Dragons & Unicorns!

If you have been reading Ginger's Journey for very know I love the idea of a journey and can tie it into almost also know that each year I pick a word to live...I have been pondering the word for 2011. In the past I have used simplify, action, believe, name a few. For 2011 I have settled on the word Quest.

Why quest you may ask....isn't it like a journey? Why YES it is...don't you just love that? But it is more than an ordinary journey.....A quest is the act or an instance of seeking or pursuing something; a search, An expedition undertaken in medieval romance by a knight in order to perform a prescribed task. You have to just LOVE how it falls into place with my little saying about heroes taking journeys...I mean a knight is a hero!  And isn't the journey that we all travel through life really a quest...a quest searching for self, understanding, a higher power, etc.

I am seeing 2011 as a quest....or maybe more accurately a …

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving all you Ginger's Journey readers. As we are moving into the "most wondeful time of the year" I am reminded that it is NOT what's on our Christmas list that makes us happy but what's in our hearts! Take a minute to reflect on all of the things you appreciate....the love of family and friends, the support of co-workers, home, food, health, adventures (big & small), a good book, a hot cup of chocolate, sleeping in, and pies baking....whatever it is that makes you smile...BE THANKFUL that you have it in your life!

The thing I am the most thankful for in my life ....people....I am so thankful for both internet and "real life" friends....they enrich this journey through life in so many ways. I love the insight they give me into life, love, family etc. As a collector of stories, I am so honored when someone shares their "story" with me.

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

Everywhere I go......oh for the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

The Christmas season "officially" starts next week AFTER Thanksgiving. I'm still shopping but plan to be DONE by December 10th. I don't mind the shopping but the hustle and bustle of the holiday season just isn't what it's made out to be.

This weekend I think I will put the Mexico Tree up...yes yes I know...Thanksgiving! But this year my sister in law is hosting the dinner which gives me a bit more leeway on ealry decorating. It's a three foot tree and will be on top of the it will be easy to put it together and then pop it up there! I have to play around a bit with the ornaments etc but I think it will be cute!

I also have an aluminum tree (sort of retro) that is going in the kitchen too....I think I have a tree addiction! But over all I plan on putting out fewer display items this year...SIMPLIFY! Remember how I harp on that word...well I am trying to live it for Christmas 201…
